The Batang Pier hopes that today will be the day for them to strike their first victory inside the PBA bubble while the Elasto Painters wanted to stay perfect as they resume their campaign this afternoon in Angeles City.

Head coach Caloy Garcia surely is happy about how is squad performing in the early stages of the All-Filipino Cup. They’re now staring to their 2-0 record yet they shouldn’t be contended and remain hungry on winning as the tides can change anytime if they let their guards down.

One of the reasons for their good footing in this PBA restart is the continual improvement of Rey Nambatac.

In their 2020 PBA Philippine Cup opener, the man who is known as the “Stingray” stung the defending champion, the San Miguel Beermen.

In that match, he only scored four points yet his three-pointer at the 00:12 mark was crucial as he deflates the hopes of SMB to make a comeback or stole the victory.

During their Terrafirma Dyip match last October 16, Nambatac had a much better game scoring-wise. In that duel, he delivered 19 points and was named as the Best Player of the Game.

“Hopefully, yung kumpiyansa madala pa namin sa mga susunod na laro,” said Nambatac.

For NorthPort on the other hand, despite the stellar performances of Christian Standhardinger and Sean Anthony where both usuall stuffed the stat sheets are still among the three teams which are still winless. The other two are NLEX Road Warriors and the Terrafirma Dyip.

Head coach Pido Jarencio surely missed the point guard services of Robert Bolick yet they need to face the reality and move forward.

“We need Robert. But eto na kami, eto na ang team namin,” said Jarencio.

Coach Jarencio is expecting a much better outing from his available court generals namely Nico Elorde, LA Revilla, and rookie Renzo Subido.
