The Nueva Ecija MiGuard is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Muntinlupa Cagers at 6:30 P.M. on August 5, 2019 live from the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
The MiGuards are looking to end their five-game losing skid while the Cagers wanted to make back-to-back wins when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup continues this evening at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
The Nueva Ecija squad got humiliated in their last outing against the Navotas Uni-Pak Sardines in Navotas Sports Complex last July 29.
The MiGuards got out-rebounded by their opponent, 40-48. Their ball movement also wasn’t that sharp (21-38) and they got outpowered playing in the post as Navotas got 78 from inside the paint while they only registered 56.
JR Cawaling led Nueva Ecija in that match with his 22 points and four rebounds production.
For the Cagers, on the other hand, they survived the comeback attempt of the Quezon City Capitals last July 30.
The fourth quarter of that match was seen Muntinlupa up with 10 points that are after their scoring onslaught in the third quarter where they outscored their opponent, 36-26.
Those points they have piled prior to the end quarter was enough to log another victory.
John Kervin Ortuoste and Edzel Mag-Isa each scored 24 points to pace their squad.
