Paul Lee went unstoppable from the first quarter until the final period in Game 2 of their Best-of-Seven series against the NLEX Road Warriors. Now Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok is tied at 1-all and ensure that there’ll be a Game 5.

Lee slices his way through and banks it home!

As predicted by Road Warriors coach Yeng Guiao, his former ace point guard back in their Rain or Shine Elasto Painters days will find a way to make a bounce back game after scoring eight points in Game 1 and that really came true.

This time around, Lee dropped 27 points just a three-point shy of his conference high of 30 points. Likewise, the Pambansang Manok was able to find help from its front-court players led by Ian Sangalang who contributed 18 points along with his eight rebounds.

“Very much happy with Paul kasi nasa attack mode sya eh,” said Coach Chito Victolero during post-game interview. “Sa start pa lang gusto nya nang manalo. I hope ma sustain ni Paul ang ganyang atake,” he added.

Peter Jun Simon also found his shooting strokes in the second half and chipped in eight points. Simon said after they got beaten by the Road Warriors that they need all of the motivation that they can get. That motivation probably was the injury of Marc Pingris and the entire Magnolia Hotshots dedicated their Game 2 semis game for him. All players were seen having the number 15 on their respective uniform which happens to be the jersey number of Pingris.

The Scoring Apostle

“Yung inspiration na naibibigay sa amin (by Pingris) yun yung malaki sa amin,” Victolero said.

NLEX on the other hand played like a tired basketball game. It was evident that players lacks energy and coach Yeng Guiao even pulled out Kiefer Ravena still have plenty of time in the fourth quarter.

The Road Warriors main guns were also silent as Cyrus Baguio, Kevin Alas and Larry Fonacier only scored four points, six points and six points respectively.
