Unlike the previous PBA Drafts, this year is somehow different as the league introduced a “Special Draft for Gilas Pool Players“.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas announced earlier the list of Gilas Cadets who will be part of the draft. Based from SBP, players who will be taken from the special draft won’t be dropped nor be traded by the franchise that drafted them for two years.
A regular and familiar PBA draft will follow after Gilas Cadets are distributed to each PBA teams.
