The Rain or Shine Elastopainters and the Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters will face off at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Sunday, June 19, 2022, in the much-awaited 47th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
The Elastopainters will try to stop their losing streak which is now starting to pile up at two in a row while the Fuelmasters will try to continue where they left off and make a couple of victories when PBA live-action returns in MOA Arena this afternoon.
Former ROS player Javee Mocon is starting to make a groove in his new team and many expect that he’ll go scoring berserk this 4:30 PM as this is what most players do when playing against their previous ball club.
Mocon is fresh from his double-double performance versus the Terrafirma Dyip two days back and could be a sign that he’s now comfortably playing under the guidance of head coach Topex Robinson. Although the former shifty point guard who turned to bench tactician admits that their new acquisition is still in his adjustment stage.
“Right now, nangangapa pa rin siya sa bagong position, bago niyang team. But si Javee naman is a quick learner,” said coach Robinson.
For the Rain or Shine, on the other hand, head coach Chris Gavina might welcome the addition of Gabe Norwood and Rey Nambatac in their today’s schedule though they are announced as game-time decisions.
Norwood who is a well-known as a beast in terms of his tenacious defense will definitely slow down the guards and wings of the opposing team while Nambatac is an instant offense which is a welcoming addition to ROS as this is one of the areas they needed right now in order for them to return to get back to winning tracks.
This could be a concern to Phoenix fans yet, coach Robinson wanted to focus on things they can control for them to climb up in the standings.
“We don’t have control of what Rain or Shine will do. Ang kontrolado namin is paano kami maglalaro,” said Robinson.
