Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup between the San Miguel Beermen (SMB) and the Meralco Bolts, scheduled on November 13, 2020, at 4:00 PM.
Banking on Mo Tautuaa’s consistency, both in offense and defense, the defending champion San Miguel will try to draw first blood in their re-match later with Meralco in the first-ever match in the PBA bubble quarterfinals.
After landing in the top four at the end of the eliminations, with a 7-4 win-loss record, the Beermen now carries a twice-to-beat advantage over the Bolts (7-4) heading into the playoffs.
Last October, the 6-foot-8 bruiser Tautuaa delivered the goods for San Miguel, tallying a game-high 23 points on a 53-percent clip alongside five boards to power the Beermen past Meralco, 89-82.
On the opposite end is Meralco’s Chris Newsome, who averages 14.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
Leaning on the momentum brought by their recent back-to-back wins, Meralco head coach Norman Black said desire, determination and defense could well be their best weapons to pull the rug from under the rank no. 4 Beermen.
However, the Bolts must also quash the ever-reliable Arwind Santos, who averages 13.0 points, 9.91 rebounds, and 1.91 assists per game. The 6-foot-4 Santos finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double – the most by any player in the bubble during that time.
Only three from the Black-coached team scored in double figures in their previous skirmish, whilst five for San Miguel.
