Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals between the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Meralco Bolts scheduled on April 10, 2022, at 6:30 PM.

The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel ties the game after winning Game 2 of their Finals series against the Meralco Bolts. Both teams will now try to take a 2-1 lead against the opposing squad.

“[Game 3s] kind of tell which direction [the series] is going to go,” Tim Cone, head coach of the Gin-Kings said.

“You even out those first two games, that third game basically makes it the first win in a best-of-five. That is always crucial.” he added.

Ginebra almost lost to the Bolts and could have trailed a 2-0 lead in the Finals against Meralco as they nearly blew their 20-point commanding lead.

“It was just a matter of trying to keep our poise,” Tim Cone said.

“You wish you hold that lead all the way through. But in the finals, it can be difficult, because the team you’re playing is really good.”

Justin Brownlee recorded another high-scoring game for the team and almost finished the matchup with a triple-double stat line, scoring 36 big points while hitting 12 of his 18 attempts, grabbing 13 rebounds, and diming out nine dishes. The beloved import by thousands of solid Ginebra fans also stole possession from Meralco while they try to narrow down Ginebra’s three-point lead late in the fourth quarter. From there on, the Gin-Kings went on to win the crucial contest.

LA Tenorio had poor performance for his team in the first game of the series, but had decent outputs in the second one, logging in 13 points. Scottie Thompson continues his versatility on the court as he had 16 points and 12 boards, ending the matchup with a double-double performance. Standhardinger added 12 points and 11 boards in their win while Pinto, who came off from the bench, had 10 for the team while shooting 4-5 on his shots.

In addition, Ginebra dominated Meralco in the second quarter where they chipped in 40 total points in that period alone while holding the Bolts to only 19 points. Meralco gradually reduced the big winning margin in the following quarters and came close at 88-86. However, that is the closest they have ever been, and failed to tie the game or even take the lead.

Aaron Black had a huge game, registering 24 points while shooting 10-20 from the field while Tony Bishop led the team with 31 points and 13 boards while playing for 44 minutes for the squad. Banchero added 14 points from the bench in addition to their scoring outputs as a whole.
