Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup Semi-Finals between the Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots vs Meralco Bolts scheduled on March 30, 2022, at 6:00 PM.
The Meralco Bolts won against the Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots in game three and now lead 2-1 in the series. Because of this, they now have the chance to close out the series and wait for the Barangay Ginebra or for the NLEX Road Warriors in the other Semi-Finals series.
Tony Bishop, Meralco’s import, carried the team in their most recent game, tallying 27 points, ten rebounds, and four steals. The import also played for 43 big minutes. Chris Banchero added 23 points in the winning effort while also hitting down three three-point shots.
The Bolts had a 13-3 run in the fourth quarter which gave them the winning margin for good for the rest of the game.
Magnolia’s Adrian Wong tied the matchup at 82-82 with two three-point shots before Banchero knocked down his own rainbow that sparked a run that advanced them to have a 95-85 lead.
Magnolia came back at 92-95 with a 7-0 run of their own, but that was the closest they have ever been since the massive run by the opposing team as Newsome and Bishop kept on pressuring them on the offensive end.
“This is like a turning point for both teams, at this point,” Norman Black said.
“We just thought this was a very pivotal game for us in this series, and if we could win the game, it gives us a much better chance of making it to the championship.”
Newsome logged in 16 points, five boards, and five assists. Maliksi and Quinto contributed 20 combined points in their win against the Hotshots.
Meanwhile, Magnolia is going to have a tough time coming back in this series now that they are now behind the series at 2-1.
Mike Harris continues to be a stellar producer in terms of scoring for Magnolia. The import had 24 in the game as well as 17 boards. Mark Barroca added 15 points while Sangalang, who came off from the bench for Magnolia had 14 in the game.
