Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled to play against TNT KaTropa at 6:45 P.M. today in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The forever fan-favorite, Barangay Ginebra will begin its campaign in the 2016-17 PBA Philippine Cup against the Jayson Castro-less KaTropa.
Just merely four weeks from winning a championship after eight years, the team led by Coach Tim Cone is eyeing to make a back-to-back championship.
Although TNT suffered its first loss last Wednesday in double-digit against Rain or Shine, Coach Tim Cone expecting that they will try to bounce back.
“TNT didn’t shoot the ball well the last time out, but we expect them to shoot the ball a lot better against us,” said Cone.
“Hopefully, we get going right away as you can’t bear TNT without your ‘A’ game. I think we’re all looking forward to getting this thing started,” Cone added.
Barangay Ginebra will also parade its new player acquisitions from the 2016 PBA Draft.
Kevin Ferrer, Jericho de Guzman and Jammer Jamito are the new reinforcement who will assist the already solid Ginebra roster.
For the TNT KaTropa on the other hand, they will try to avoid a second straight loss as they wait for the return of Jayson Castro.
Just like in their previous game, TNT is expected to rely heavily from the scoring of Ranidel de Ocampo.
