The Blackwater Elite is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Mahindra Floodbuster at 4:30 P.M. on May 7, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Both teams are still hoping to make it to the next round of the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup. Although the Floodbuster as well as the Elite chances for playoff are getting slimmer and slimmer, yet there’s no reason for them to slow down.
Talking about not slowing down is the office of Mahindra Floodbuster.
They went busy last week finalizing a trade with NLEX involving Alex Mallari, Kenneth Ighalo, Glenn Khobuntin and Eric Camson.
Both Khobuntin and Camson are expected to fill-in the scoring void which Alex Mallari is leaving behind.
Mallari was impressive during the 2017 Philippine Cup where he averaged 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.7 steals.
However, his productions dropped this second conference which probably might led to this surprise trade. Also, Mallari’s relationship with coach Chris Gavina is getting sour.
The Elite is still fresh from its win against the struggling NLEX Road Warriors and for the first time this conference, they’re aiming for a back-to-back victories.
Michael DiGregorio who was a former Mahindra player led all locals in that game with his 22 points who shoots 50% from beyond the arc (4-of-8).
