The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NLEX Road Warriors at 7:00 P.M. on April 19, 2017 in Cuneta Astrodome.
Ginebra is looking to pile up its winning streak in to three while the Road Warriors will try again and keep chasing the elusive first win this second conference.
Coach Tim Cone is impressed the way Justin Brownlee playing this 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
However, he stressed that his local players should be consistent in their production to keep their winning streak on fire.
“Justin is turning out just as what we expected. But we need contributions from the other guys if we’re to continue playing at a high-level,” said Cone.
After his subpar second conference debut performance against the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters, Brownlee bounced back.
Ginebra’s import is currently averaging 29.5 points. 12.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.0 blocks in its last two games.
All of those ended up with a win.
NLEX game improved in their last three games but coach Yeng Guiao squad still need to learn how to finish it and take home the W.
They had a winnable game against the Hotshots and KaTropa but went short in the final stretch.
Former PBA Best Import Wayne Chism continue to unload awesome stats with 28.3 points along with 18.2 rebounds but it’s obvious that he needs help from local players for them to get a win.
No Road Warrior in this second conference averaging double-digits in scoring. Their best local player so far is Kevin Alas who got 9.3 points per outing.
