The 2017 SEABA Championships is over and it’s PBA once again.

Barangay Ginebra aims for a six game-winning streak and strenghten their chance for the twice-to-beat advantage going to the quarterfinals round while the Elasto Painters needs to do extra effort to keep their current spot in the ongoing 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

If coach Leo Austria of the Beermen is happy that his “Kraken” is back in the lineup, coach Tim Cone on the other hand expressed some little concern for the return of Japeth Aguilar in Ginebra’s uniform.

“It’s been a terrifically long break so we’re apprehensive as to how sharp we’ll be,” said Ginebra coach Tim Cone.

“Plus we’re uncertain of Japeth Aguilar’s availability because he has had no practice with us this week and hence no preparation for what we’re to do against Rain or Shine,” added Cone.

“We’ll see if we can figure it all out in time for our game. But no doubt, our guys are raring to get back at it.”

Both Barangay Ginebra and the Beermen are sharing the number one spot in the standings but Star and Meralco are just behind their shoulders with 7-2 card.

Rain or Shine was reported that they will bring in Duke Crews who is a PBA import returnee as a replacement for Shawn Taggart.

Crews played with RoS back in 2011-12 season where he averaged 27 points and 15.4 rebounds per outing and that was still coach Yeng Guiao’s era.

RoS is currently holding a 4-4 win-loss card and its four wins came from teams which are currently at the bottom of the standings. These are NLEX, Blackwater, Mahindra and Phoenix.
