The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a Game 3 Semi-Finals round against the Purefoods-Star Hotshots at 7:00 P.M. on February 13, 2017 in Mall of Asia Arena.
The continuation of the best-of-seven series between Ginebra and Star resumes today.
Both team went scorching from behind the three-point territory during the first half of Game 2.
That time, Coach Tim Cone gave Kevin Ferrer a green light to shoot from the rainbow area and didn’t failed the multi-awrded coach.
Ferrer logged a career-high of 25 points, 15 of those came from behind the three-point line.
Ginebra is currently down 0-2 and missed the services of Joe Devance. However, Tim Cone gave a hint of a possible return of their big-man and help Aguilar to work inside the post.
“There’s a chance that Joe may finally play. His presence should help us,” said Cone in his inquirer interview.
Raffy Reavis and Marc Pingris probably realized that without Devance, Ginebra will depend in their young frontcourt to do the hardwork under the rim. The two big-men of Hotshots exploited that situation as they dominated the paint area.
Reavis became an unlikely hero in Game 2 after he tapped the ball away and prevented Ginebra to grab the rebound which could lead to a tie ballgame or worst a one point advantage.
Reavis got fouled and sank his pair of free-throws which gave Star four-point difference, 87-91. With only five seconds left in the fourth quarter, Ginebra was able to convert another two-points as time expires.
