The Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a Game 5 Semi-Finals round against the Purefoods-Star Hotshots at 7:00 P.M. on February 17, 2017 in Mall of Asia Arena.
The continuation of the best-of-seven series between Ginebra and Star resumes today. Both teams are currently tied at 2-2.
Just like the Beermen and KaTropa series, the Best-of-Seven version of Ginebra vs Star is now converted into Best-of-Three when the game starts tonight.
Star Hotshots Paul Lee seems missing in this series after a stellar performance in Game 1 and Game 2. To make things worst for the Hotshot guard, he was in foul trouble during Game 4.
Most of his time was sitting in the bench watching his teammates struggle with his absence. Also, Mark Barroca went fouled out in that another Manila Clasico match.
Coach Tim Cone showcased his skills in rotating his players especially pulling a player from the bench who can make a difference. That player was Jervy Cruz who registered his season-high with 21 points.
The match between Star and Ginebra is now being called as Manila Clasico and that name wasn’t invented without meaning.
During the third quarter clash, Jio Jalalon went head-to-head with Sol Mercado as the duo was seen several times playing physical basketball.
Eventually Mercado and the Barangay Ginebra got the last laugh in Game 4 and they’re aiming to make three straight wins tonight and take the series lead with 3-2.
