Both teams will try to survive the eliminations round in order to extend its second conference campaign and be qualified for the quarterfinals round.

The Batang Pier is in a much better position compared to Mahindra by looking at their respective 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup standings.

GlobalPort is currently having a 1-5 win-loss card while the Floodbuster got 1-6.

Consistency is the key according to Batang Pier coach Franz Pumaren in securing today’s game and its remaining schedules.

“In order for us to turn things around this conference is for us to start playing consistently,” he said. “Basketball is not 24 minutes, 32 minutes. It’s the whole 48 minutes.”

GlobalPort scoring machine Terrence Romeo is probably one of the players which Pumaren is talking about. In this second conference, Romeo looks like not consistently delivering the goods his team expecting from him

He started the conference with a typhoid fever and after that he was on and off.

“He’s a professional. For him to be back in shape is of course, through playing games and also by practicing,” said the Batang Pier mentor. “Slowly he’s gonna get there. It’s not gonna be an overnight thing, but he’s going to get there,” Pumaren added.

Coach Manny Pacquiao was seen in the arena supporting his team against San Miguel but even with his presence, his Floodbuster weren’t able to stop the surging Beermen.

Mahindra needs more apart from a new import and motivation from the nation’s boxing champ to change the figure of its win-loss card.
