The Bolts won and crushed the NorthPort Batang Pier in their recent matchup. They even had an outstanding 27-point winning margin against the Batang Pier. Meralco started strong in the first half as they outscored the opposing team in every period within that half.
Aaron Black led the squad with 20 points against NorthPort while shooting with extreme accuracy as he converted nine of his twelve tries on the floor. Maliksi and Banchero both added 16 points in the win.
Chris Newsome had a poor performance against NorthPort. He only logged in seven points and went 3-18 from the field. However, he contributed on a different way for Meralco, racking up ten boards and seven dishes.
As for NLEX, they got defeated by the Gin-Kings in their previous game even though they had a 19-point lead against them. The Road Warriors had a commanding first half against Ginebra, but collapsed in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter where they were limited to only score 12 points against the Gin-Kings’ 25-point period.
Kevin Alas had 16 points in their clash against Ginebra while Oftana had 15 points and 12 boards, ending the game with a double-double performance in the losing effort.
Meralco is looking to extend their winning streak against NLEX while the Road Warriors are planning to defeat the Bolts to bounce back from their loss.
