The Meralco Bolts is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Mahindra Floodbuster at 4:15 P.M. on March 17, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup will officially starts today and for its opening game it will be Floodbusters and the Bolts.
Both teams finished the 2016-17 PBA Philippine Cup conference with a subpar performance with only 3 wins a piece in their 11 game schedule.
Meralco will parade its new import in the name of Alex Stephenson who got a big shoe to fill-in.
Last year’s second conference cup the Bolts was reinforced by Arinze Onuaku who led the team to a best record of 8-3 which was tied with San Miguel Beermen in the first spot of the 2016 PBA Commissioner’s Cup standings.
Onuaku was also named as the Bobby Parks Best Import of the Conference.
On Mahindra’s side they will also showcase their import returnee, James White. He helped the team that was once known as the “Enforcers” to reach the Quarterfinals round for the first time in their franchise history in last year’s Governor’s Cup.
However, this time around, James White will be surrounded by a revamped Mahindra roster led by their versatile player, Alex Mallari.
