The Meralco Bolts is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters at 7:00 P.M. on May 3, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The surging Bolts is looking to extend its winning streak to three while the Fuel Masters wanted to solidify its current position in the standing which owns the last slot going to the playoffs.
The Bolts sent Chris Newsome, Jarred Dillinger, Baser Amer, Ed Daquioag in the PBA All-Star last week.
However, in that festivities apart from Newsome’s Slam Dunk win the other Bolts player who standout was its rookie Jonathan Grey who suit up for the Gilas Pilipinas in the Luzon leg.
Grey scored a team-high of 19 points in that All-Star game and helped coach Chot Reyes squad to deliver the win.
Despite leading his team in points it was Matthew Wright who took the MVP trophy.
Wright and Grey will have a chance tonight to show-off their talents but this time in separate ball-clubs.
Jonathan Grey only hopes that coach Norman Black got impressed in his skills during the annual league festivities and give him more minutes playing inside the court.
Meralco’s big-man import Alex Stepheson will be battling the young import of Phoenix. It’ll be muscles versus athleticism between these two foreign hires.
Matthew Wright will be also returning as a Phoenix player after got named as one of the Gilas Players who will participate this coming 2017 SEABA Championship Cup Tournament.
Wright was also named as the 2017 PBA All-Star Most Valuable Player for the Mindanao Leg (with Troy Rosario) and in Luzon Leg.
