The NLEX Road Warriors is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Meralco Bolts at 6:45 P.M. on March 19, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Both the Road Warriors and the Bolts will be playing their second game in just three days after the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup started last March 17.
Merlaco were successful in their last match, however, NLEX struggle continues in the second conference as they bowed down against the defending champion Rain or Shine.
Wayne Chism the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Best Import is back in the Philippines but this time around is suiting up with NLEX Road Warriors.
Chism and coach Yeng Guiao got reunited and hoping to replicate the same success they borught to Rain or Shine two years ago. Both of them led RoS to the Finals but lost to Talk ‘N Text KaTropa in Game 7. In short, Guiao and Chism still have an unfinished business.
In his second conference debut, Wayne Chism led NLEX with his double-double performance where he scored 27 points and grabbed 21 rebounds. Asi Taulava who was rumored last season that he wanted to get traded logged his season-best with 12 points.
Baser Amer and Chris Newsome led Meralco in scoring with 19 and 17 points respectively but it was Cliff Hodge who did the finishing touches in their battle against Mahindra two days ago. Hodge delivered two big three-pointers late in the fourth quarter to put the Bolts away 94-86.
“Big Boy” Alex Stephenson did a mediocore performance in scoring but was a monster cleaning the boards with 21 rebounds. It will be fun to see these two imports going head-to-head doing their respective jobs under the rim.
