The NLEX Road Warriors is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters at 4:15 P.M. on April 7, 2017 in Mall of Asia Arena.
The Road Warriors is one of teams still searching for its first win this second conference while the KaTropa is aiming for a three-game winning streak this afternoon.
NLEX’s learning process continues and instead of the promised “drastic measures” move it appears that the Road Warriors is taking a different path.
Coach Yeng Guiao and NLEX management seems like showing patience instead of player movement. With their four-game losing streak, NLEX roster still intact which includes their import.
Last Friday, NLEX gave Star Hotshots a scare as they erased a 21-point lead and was leading in the few minutes of the final quarter.
The only problem is that Jio Jalalon spoiled that run as the Hotshots rookie sank a buzzer-beater.
TNT’s courtside chieftain, coach Nash Racela recognized the effort of NLEX and expects an intense battle.
“NLEX is a dangerous team right now, almost winning against Star the last time,” noted Racela.
“We need to give our best effort defensively to have a chance.”
KaTropa shipped back former New York Knicks player Lou Amundson and replaced Donte Green who fell below the expectations of Racela.
“Personally, I’m not satisfied with what he gave us today,” admitted Racela after the Blackwater game. “Hopefully, after this game, makita niya kung ano talaga kailangan niyang gawin.”
KaTropa rookie and Gilas member Roger Pogoy recorded a new career-high in their previous outing. He scored 24 points against another winless team, the Blackwater Elite.
