The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters at 7:00 P.M. on May 5, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen hotstreak is currently switched on this second conference and they’re looking for more and extend it to six while KaTropa Texters will try survive without their key players.
San Miguel for this first time this season will be playing without the Kraken.
Fajardo who led the franchise to a championship last All-Filipino Cup will be lend to Gilas Pilipinas and will compete for the upcoming 2017 SEABA Championships tournament.
But coach Leo Austria is already prepared for this situation. Without the three-time PBA Most Valuable Player, the Beermen still have three big-men in the names of Yance de Ocampo, JayR Reyes and their rookie Arnold Van Opstal.
“May mga pamalit kami pero may malaking adjustments pa rin na gagawin kasi our plays revolve around June Mar,” said SMB coach Leo Austria.
On the other hand for TNT, they will be missing the services of Roger Pogoy, Troy Rosario and Jayson Castro. The trio are also heading to SEABA tournament as they’re part of the Gilas Pilipinas roster.
Pogoy, Rosario and Castro are having a combined average of 40 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists per ballgame.
Today’s game will also feature RR Garcia and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser in their new uniforms. San Miguel and TNT made a one-on-one player trade prior to the All-Star break.
