The Star Hotshots is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters at 5:15 P.M. on February 4, 2017 in Mall of Asia Arena.
The best-of-three series for the Star Hotshots and Phoenix Fuel Masters will officially starts today.
Just like what its moniker says, Star is currently is a hotshot after winning all of its last four games.
Now that they have entered the second round, Paul Lee is getting closer to PBA’s biggest stage a place where he can truly prove that he’s now the new face of the franchise after James Yap got traded to Rain or Shine.
Hotshots are among the three teams in the league which entered the quarterfinals round at least having three-game winning streak.
The other two teams are Alaska Aces with three and the powerhouse San Miguel Beermen with a superb nine victories in a row.
This will be the second straight QuarterFinals appearance of Phoenix Fuel Masters after they acquired Barako Bull Energy. Last 2016 PBA Governor’s Cup they got eliminated by the top seeded TNT KaTropa whose having a twice-to-beat advantage.
This afternoon they’re aiming for the 1-0 advantage and their first victory in the PBA QuarterFinals round.
The last time these two teams meet with each other was last December 10, 2016. Star was so dominant in that game as they crushed the Fuel Masters with a final score of 123-79.
