The San Miguel Beermen is now on a commanding 2-0 lead after their impressive victory against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 117-105.
Chris Ross had a great night after he logged a new career-high in scoring with 34 points along with his eight assists.
Ross helped his squad to rise from the grave after his squad got buried with 29 points in the first quarter.
Ross used the three-point land to take over the game where he shoots 10-of-16. He was later named as the Best Player of the Game.
He dedicated his stellar performance to his teammate Marcio Lassiter who is currently on the sidelines due to an injury.
“That’s for my brother seal, Marcio,” said Ross. “He texted me before the game he was telling me to let it fly,” he added.
ROS shocked San Miguel in the opening quarter with their now patented long-range shooting. They ended the first quarter with 34-13 advantage.
Then in the second quarter, SMB made their response by giving ROS their own dose of medicine and that’s shooting from the three-point area led by Chris Ross.
In the third quarter, the hot shooting of San Miguel continues until they finally took over the driver seat and from there on they didn’t look back to win Game 2.
Carl Montgomery paced Rain or Shine offense with his 24 markers and 15 boards while Rey Nambatac and Ed Daquioad had a combined 28 points.
Game 3 of the semi-finals round for both squads will resume on Wednesday.
