Two games scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) because four players require confirmatory COVID-19 tests.
In compliance with the league’s health and safety rules, the PBA postponed the scheduled Terrafirma Dyip-Alaska Aces and TNT Tropang Giga-Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok matches on TWednesday.
“Four TNT Tropang Giga players have returned tests that were either positive or need to be confirmed for COVID-19 under government approved league protocols,” the PBA said in a statement.
“They are now isolated and will be tested again. The rest of the team who tested negative are also isolated and will be retested,” the league added.
All of the Terrafirma players tested negative, yet they were TNT’s last opponent on July 17. They have also been isolated, according to the PBA, and will be tested again.
Despite the postponement, the league plans to continue playing other games on Wednesday.
At 3 PM, the Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters will face the NorthPort Batang Pier, while Magnolia will meet the Alaska Aces at 6 PM.
