The Alaska Aces crushed the Columbian Dyip in their second conference opener at the Mall of Asia Arena, 111-98.

Chris Daniels made his PBA debut and right away had a great performance as he delivered 25 points and 16 rebounds. Daniels seems like the floor of the MOA Arena as he shoots 68 percent from the field.

The Aces opened the first quarter with a 7-1 run to ignite their offense but the Dyip bounced back and reclaimed the lead.

Columbian was leading at the end of the first half 54-48 as CJ Perez and company found their shooting strokes.

In the third quarter, coach Alex Compton made the needed adjustment and their patented defense started to bite their opponent.

Alaska led as much as 20 points in that quarter and looks poised to seal the game.

However, in the fourth quarter, Columbian made its last stand and coach Johnadel Cardel re-inserted JP Calvo to take the playmaking role.

Columbian cuts the deficit down to only nine points with less than four minutes in the fourth quarter, 92-101.

Yet, the Aces had their answers and prevented the Dyip to complete its comeback.

Former Saigon Heat World Import Kyle Barone led Columbian in scoring with 30 points and 22 rebounds. Rookies CJ Perez and JP Calvo added 19 and 10 points respectively.

Calvo also logged 7 assists and four rebounds.
