PBA Recap: Allein Maliksi Went Berserk In His Blackwater Debut Game

Few weeks ago, the Elite started moving some of its assets in exchange for winning experience and coach Leo Isaac’s squad now looks like a legit contender.

Maliksi, the reigning three-point king delivered 22 points and 5 rebounds for his new ball-club which turned out to be another W for Blackwater.

This victory isn’t just an ordinary win for the Elite but a ticket going to the Quarterfinals round of the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup.

The leadership of Henry Walker was once again the reason why they’re successful in their tonight’s game and even Maliksi can testify on that.

“Si Henry nagagalit pag di ako umaatake or naging aggressive,” said Maliksi referring to Blackwater’s import ways of motivating his teammates.

GlobalPort’s defeat puts them disqualified in the ongoing tournament along with Alaska, Kia and Pheonix.

Batang Pier made a late surge and closed the gap into six (109-103) behind the hustle plays of Sean Anthony with just 2:39 remaining in the fourth quarter.

However, Blackwater have discovered how to maintain the momentum and keep its pace until the final buzzer has sounded.

The other half of the “Slash Brothers” was ejected during the second quarter. Terrence Romeo was called a flagrant foul penalty 2 after he intentionally throw the ball to Henry Walker.

Romeo was the scoring leader for the Batang Pier at that point with 13 points. Stanley Pringle tried to carry his team as he poured 27 points along with his 7 boards but not enough to beat the revamped Elite.
