The Meralco Bolts snapped the four-game winning streak of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 101-77.
Allen Durham was spectacular as he showcased his new weapon which shocked the Gin Kings.
Durham delivered 39 points along with his 12 boards and seven dimes to led his squad to victory and an automatic playoff clincher.
The former Best Import awardee demonstrated his long-range shooting and made 4-of-5 from downtown.
Right from the get-go, it was all Meralco and they didn’t give Ginebra to unleash its “Never Say Die” spirit.
They held their opponent to convert only 44% of their attempts while they also shut down the outside shooters of the Barangay (4-of-20).
Justine Brownlee who usually shoots in a high percentage particularly from beyond the three-point arc, in this game he was 0-of-3.
With the victory, Meralco secured its third spot. With three games remaining its schedule, the Bolts have a good chance to carry a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals round.
For Ginebra, they gave a wide-open door for the final fourth spot as San Miguel Beermen and Magnolia Hotshots are just behind them and anytime can take over.
