The NorthPort Batang Pier continued their great performance this 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup as they logged another victory against the Blackwater Elite, 127-99.
The new recruits of coach Pido Jarencio shines this afternoon and it seems that they immediately found a home.
One of the ex-Barangay Ginebra San Miguel players that shines the brightest is Kevin Ferrer who delivered 23 points, five rebounds and six assists in his NorthPort debut.
Ferrer was also named as the Best Player of the Game.
Batang Pier head coach Pido Jarencio wasted no time as straight away he inserted Sol Mercado and Ferrer to his starting five.
Ferrer, however, committed quick three fouls in that opening period and coach Jarencio had no choice to pull him out.
Yet, later in the game he found his groove especially from the three-point area where he was able to convert his five attempts.
The new face of NorthPort back-court, Robert Bolick also had a sterling performance as he flirted a triple-double.
Bolick registered 16 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists.
Blackwater played for the second straight time without an import. They have tapped the services of Jameel McKay but he was unable to secure an approval for his documents and was unable to suit up for the Elite this afternoon.
Bobby Ray Parks Jr., paced Blackwater with his 25 points and 11 rebounds effort while Rabeh Al-Hussaini chipped in with 16 points where most of his scores came in the first half.
NorthPort is back at the top of the standings sharing with the TNT KaTropa having a 7-1 card while the Elite dropped to 4-3 slate.
