PBA Recap: NorthPort Vs Magnolia Final Score | 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup

by | Posted on: June 12th, 2019 | No Comments | Sports

The NorthPort Batang Pier slayed another league’s dragon as they have defeated the Magnolia Hotshots, 102-99.

It seems that coach Pido Jarencio squad learned so much from their 2019 PBA Philippine Cup campaign and they bring that experience here in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

NorthPort has shown that this time around they know how to close-out a game and didn’t panic at the end game.

Sean Anthony paced the offense of Batang Pier as he registered 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. He was also later named as the Best Player of the Game.

At the opening quarter, Magnolia had a glimpse of their All-Filipino form as they started the game with a 7-0 blast.

Yet, in the second up to the the fourth quarter it was all NorthPort.

Then on the final period, Paul Lee took the hero role for the Magnolia squad as they climbed back from a 16-point deficit.

However, Batang Pier put up a wall to withstand their rally and protect their single digit lead.

Magnolia has paraded a new import in this game as a replacement to John Fields III. James Farr took the foreign player role but he struggled in his first PBA game.

Farr appears to be still far from an ideal import as he only delivered 11 points and 14 rebounds. He shoots a dismal 5-of-26 from the field.

Ian Sangalang paced the Hotshots with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Robert Herndon added 18 points.

Paul Lee With The Pull-Up Three… BANG!
