The NorthPort Batang Pier proved once again that they’re all business this conference as they defeated the Meralco Bolts, 93-92.

The super rookie of the Batang Pier, Robert Bolick made sure that this time around no more doubts on his ability to seal the victory.

With seven seconds remaining in the game and his team down with just a point, coach Pido Jarencio called a timeout and designed a play for him.

The former San Beda Red Lions standout didn’t put his mentor in shame as he executed the offensive play perfectly. Most importantly, they were able to reclaim the lead, 93-92 with only three seconds remaining in regulation.

Bolick was later named as the Best Player of the Game after registering 18 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

The Bolts had the chance to snatch the victory but the layup of Chris Newsome was contested by the long arms of NorthPort import Prince Ibeh and he missed.

Newsome was the leading scorer of the Meralco. He delivered 21 markers, six boards, and three dimes.

With the victory, NorthPort has improved to 9-2 while the playoffs hopes of Meralco has ended as they now dropped to 3-7.
