The NorthPort Batang Pier captured their second consecutive victory after topping the San Miguel Beermen, 127-119.


Jervy Cruz turned the hands of time and showcased once again how deadly he is especially in the perimeter.

Cruz delivered a double-double performance with 21 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 66% from within the three-point arc. He is also shot 5-of-5 from the charity stripes.

With several NorthPort key players in the injured list, coach Pido Jarencio allowed Cruz to stay inside the basketball court for 38 minutes.

Meanwhile, there are two players in the Batang Pier’s roster who made their team debut.

In his first game with NorthPort, Christian Standhardinger immediately meet his former team. The Fil-German made 18 points and seven rebounds.

Coach Pido squad also paraded a new import in the name of Michael Qualls who exploded for 40 points and 18 rebounds.

For the most part of the game, SMB playing catch-up basketball as most of the Beermen local casts seem missing.

Dez Wells had another 50-plus point performance but similar to his first 50-plus point eruption, it ended with a loss.

Wells had a total of 56 points along with his eight rebounds and nine assists.

June Mar Fajardo had his Kraken mode with 22 markers and 14 boards.
