The San Miguel Beermen has shown no mercy in Game Two of the best-of-seven 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals against the Hotshots as they piled huge lead and tied the series at 1-all.
It was a balanced attack by the Beermen where seven of its players scored in double figures or at least 13 points.
Chris Ross logged 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists and was named as the Bida Player of the Game.
In the opening quarter, the Hotshots were still in the striking distance as they ended the first period, 22-23.
Then in the second quarter Chris Ross found his shooting touch from beyond the three-point arc and puts the defense of Magnolia confused.
The troops of coach Chito Victolero unable to pick its poison if either shutdown June Mar Fajardo inside the post or defend the shooters.
It was all San Miguel to the last second of Game Two.
Marcio Lassiter who struggled heavily in the series opener with his 0-of-8 from the field has redeemed himself in tonight’s game.
“Super Marcio” registered 15 points along with his five rebounds.
In their attempt to make a comeback, coach Victolero dug deep in his bench and found gems in Kyle Pascual and Peter Jun Simon who delivered a combined 17 points but still wasn’t enough to keep the score close.
Ian Sangalang led Magnolia in scoring with his 18 points but he appears a no activity in the rebounding end as he only pulled one board.
Game Three of San Miguel and Magnolia is scheduled this coming Sunday and will be played at the Big Dome.
