The hopes of fifth straight All-Filipino crown for the San Miguel Beermen is very much alive after they won Game Six against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok, 98-86.
June Mar Fajardo who struggled mightily in the first half of Game Five he reversed that in tonight’s game.
Immediately in the first quarter, the reigning Most Valuable Player scored 8 points to dictate the momentum of the game.
San Miguel’s lead ballooned in the second quarter to 21 points but the Hotshots were resilient as they trimmed the deficit to six points at the end of the third quarter, 62-68.
However, SMB responded in the final quarter with their 11-1 barrage and completely controlled the momentum of the game and pushed the series to Game 7 this coming Wednesday.
Fajardo went unstoppable inside the paint as he logged 23 points and 18 rebounds.
This time around, Fajardo found help in scoring as Marcio Lassiter registered 20 points along with his 7 rebounds. This is so far the best scoring output of Lassiter in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals.
Lassiter was also named as the Bida Player of the Game.
Jio Jalalon led the Hotshots in scoring with his 17 points while Rafi Reavis and Ian Sangalang scored 13 points and 14 points respectively.
Game Seven will resume on May 15, 2019 and will be played at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
