The San Miguel Beermen outlast the challenge thrown to them by the TNT KaTropa in Game 2 and tied the series at 1-1.

As good as advertised it was an exciting showdown between those two teams as it needed two extensions to decide the winner.

Terrence Romeo has reintroduced his name to his former ball-club as he delivered his season-high in scoring with 29 points.

Romeo helped SMB to stay in the game after he converted his three-pointer and ties the score to 106-all in the last 18 seconds in the fourth period.

In the extra period, TNT import Terrence Jones got whistled with his second technical foul and was ejected from the game after a second motion where he hit SMB guard Chris Ross in the face.

The inability of Talk ‘N Text to convert from the free-throw line gave the Beermen a chance to reclaim the lead and extend it once more for the second overtime.

In that last stretch, another tough blow absorbed by KaTropa as Troy Rosario committed his last personal foul after the battle for a rebound against June Mar Fajardo.

Rosario is one of the TNT anchors in their offense for tonight’s game as he delivered 34 points while shooting 8-of-12 from the rainbow territory.

Without Jones and Rosario, SMB head coach Leo Austria unleashed his “Kraken” as it was seen that the Beermen wanted to make a big crack inside the paint.

Yet, TNT still refused to surrender as Jayson Castro took the go-to-guy role in the last few minutes remaining in the game.

Castro swished his three-pointer with 11 seconds remaining and cut the Beermen deficit to only a point.

In the next ball possession, it went to San Miguel and TNT has no choice but to make an intentional foul which sends SMB import Chris Mccullough to the free-throw line.

Mccullough split his free-throw and leave the door wide open to Talk ‘N Text with 10 seconds to go.

Castro seems like he was looking for the win instead of a tie score as there was a moment that Yousef Taha went open inside the paint for an instant basket.

“The Blur” had a couple of chances to steal the victory, unfortunately, those two three-pointers unable to find the bottom of the net.

Castro had a double-double performance with 27 points and 12 assists but in a losing effort.

The Beermen and the KaTropa will return on Friday for their Game 3 showdown and will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
