The TNT KaTropa has successfully dethroned the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel as they’re now on their way to the PBA Finals, final score, 103-92.
The KaTropa used its defense to clamp down the offensive players of the Gin Kings, particularly in the second half.
After Ginebra scored at least 30 points in the first half, TNT only allowed them to score 17 in the third quarter and then on the fourth a much-intensified defense as they limit the Barangay with only 13.
Jayson Castro who is also dubbed as the Best Point Guard in Asia was chosen as the Best Player of the Game.
His three-pointer to beat the clock in the final quarter which resulted in a TNT 13-point lead was perhaps the game-changer.
That was probably the dagger shot as they completely shut the door for the trailing Ginebra.
Roger Ray Pogoy was their spark plug who dropped double-digit points in the third quarter after he got shut down in Game 3.
Pogoy delivered 14 points and converted two three-pointers out of his seven attempts.
Justin Brownlee and Japeth Aguilar led the Gin Kings as they scored 27 points respectively.
With the victory, TNT will now advance to the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals and will wait for the winner of the San Miguel Beermen versus the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters semi-finals series to be their championship opponent.
