The TNT KaTropa are back once again at the top of 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup standings for a solo lead after beating the Columbian Dyip, 109-102.
The newly-wed Jayson Castro played an inspired basketball after he returned back to continue their unfinished second conference campaign.
Castro who missed their last game against the Meralco Bolts to attend his wedding contributed 22 points, five rebounds and six assists.
He was named after as the Best Player of the Game.
KaTropa import continued his dominance this current tournament as he just one point shy away for another 40-point performance.
Jones delivered 39 points and 17 rebounds plus seven block shots.
Columbian were looking good in the third quarter where they led as much as eight points but they collapsed once again after the KaTropa regain the momentum and took control of the ball-game.
The Dyip tried to salvage the game as they closed the gap to only six points in the fourth quarter but time was no longer on their side as they absorbed another defeat.
Columbian import Lester Prosper was more active in this game compared to his PBA debut few days ago.
Prosper registered 37 points and grabbed 20 rebounds. CJ Perez flirted with a triple-double output with his 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
TNT is now having a commanding 7-1 win-loss card and made its separation from another streaking team, the NorthPort Batang Pier.
Columbian on the other hand were pushed deeper in the standings with their 1-5 slate.
