The Talk ‘N Text KaTropa denied the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel to snag its 1000th victory as they won their third straight, 104-96.
If Ginebra had problems stopping Rey Nambatac in their match against Rain or Shine Elasto Painters few days ago, tonight they had a different headache.
That’s Roger Ray Pogoy of the KaTropa. The third year player not only scored his new career-high but he is also the Gin Kings thorn from behind the three-point territory as he converted 10 treys.
Pogoy delivered 38 points, five rebounds and four steals. He was an obvious winner of the Best Player of the Game.
TNT’s import also made a sterling performance as he demonstrated his all-around skills most particularly in the playmaking department.
Terrence Jones manufactured 17 points, 14 rebounds and 16 assists.
Ginebra had a rally in the third quarter where they led as much as 10 points but in the fourth period the KaTropa turned the tides around.
They outscored the team NSD 35-19 in that final frame to make sure they’ll get their fifth win this conference.
TNT now shared with Blackwater Elite and the NorthPort Batang Pier at the top of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup standings with 5-1 slate.
Ginebra on the hand needs to go back to the drawing board and make some adjustment as they’re now below the .500 winning percentage and just absorbed their second straight loss.
Justin Brownlee paced the Gin King with his 29 points and 17 rebounds output but also committed five turnovers.
LA Tenorio added 18 points while Ginebra’s twin towers, Japeth Aguilar and Greg Slaughter had 11 points each.
