With a ticket to the finals at stake, TNT Tropang Giga, Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings, and the Meralco Bolts will try to outmaneuver their respective opponents on Wednesday.

The second-seeded Phoenix, banking on the momentum brought by their impressive quarterfinals performance against the seventh-seeded Magnolia Hotshots, will aim to draw first blood against the equally impressive TNT Tropang Giga.

Matthew Wright tallied 32 points as he lifts the Fuel Masters to an 89-88 win over Paul Lee and the rest of the Hotshots. Jason Perkins also lent a hand to the Fuel Masters’ second straight semis stint in the import-less tourney with 17 points he capped with a jumper that pegged the ninth and last deadlock at 86-all.

The third-seeded Tropang Giga, on the other hand, dispatched the rank no. 6 Alaska Aces, 104-83, to advance to the PBA bubble’s best-of-five semifinals.

RR Pogoy and his teammates erupted big-time from a 51-all halftime count, with Pogoy firing away 34 markers to lead the way as TNT rolled to the next round. Pogoy unleashed a 6-of-10 three-points in his 34-point game, laced with eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Bobby Ray Parks provided the early firepower for TNT, and the sophomore wingman finished with 20 markers, five boards, and five dole-outs.

Despite playing limited minutes due to a calf issue, Jayson Castro helped out with eight points and five rebounds. Poy Erram also chipped in 11 rebounds and nine markers, while Troy Rosario contributed 10 points.

Meanwhile, the Meralco Bolts will try to beat an upper-rank team once again, this time, the first-seeded Gin Kings.

Last Sunday, the Bolts dethroned the injury-plagued five-time defending champions San Miguel Beermen in a lopsided match, 90-68.

Meralco’s 16-0 surged in the third quarter proved so much for SMB, which led to a 75-48 bulge and eventually to Leo Austria-coached team’s demise.

With the win, the Norman Black-coached team arranged a best-of-five match-up with eliminations topnotcher and early semifinalist Barangay Ginebra, the same team which has beaten Meralco in three of the last four Governors Cup finals.

Like Phoenix, Meralco, and TNT, Ginebra is determined to advance in the PBA restart’s Finals.

Stanley Pringle and Japeth Aguilar aided their team in disposing of the eight-seeded Rain or Shine Elasto Painters the last time out, 81-73.

Aguilar finished with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Pringle, despite tallying just 10 points, provided the crucial spark in the endgame.
