PBA Trade Alert: Elite’s Maliksi-Jose For Bolts’ Canaleta-Tolomia

by | Posted on: October 24th, 2019 | No Comments | Sports

The Blackwater Elite is sending Raymar Jose and Allein Maliksi to Meralco Bolts in exchange for Mike Tolomia and KG Canaleta.

As part of the deal, Blackwater also added a future second-round pick according to a source.

The trade documents were already submitted to PBA office on Thursday.

The Even Billena franchise is active revamping its roster. Just a week ago, they have sent one of their long-range snipers Mike DiGregorio to TNT KaTropa for pesky defender Brian Heruela.

Maliksi came to Blackwater two years ago from Star (now Magnolia) Hotshots also via a trade.

Jose was acquired by the Elite via the 2017 PBA Draft as their third overall pick. He was selected higher than Jason Perkins (4th pick), Jeron Teng (5th) and Rey Nambatac (7th).

KG Canaleta is with the league since 2005. He is a five-time Slam Dunk King in the PBA and recently developed his outside shooting particularly from the three-point area. He is one of the go-to-guy of coach Norman Black each time he needs a boost from downtown.

Mike Tolomia came to Meralco after he switched places with his then Gilas cadet fellow Ed Daquioag from Rain or Shine. Similar to Canaleta, Tolomia is a threat from beyond-the-arc.
