The Quarterfinals round for the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup starts today and our beloved Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas will face China Kashgar.

Team Philippines looks formidable when they battled and were gunning for the top spot prior to the start of the playoffs.

However, in their next assignment against Iran Petrochimi, their opponent went prepared and shuts down coach Chot Reyes three-point shooters.

Apart from Isaiah Austin and Kiefer Ravena there are no other legit scorers from Filipino squad to add more points. Against the Mono Vampire Basketball squad, Carl Bryan Cruz converted eight three-pointers but against Petrochimi he was held scoreless.

“We had a good shooting game the other day,” said Reyes, referring to their win over Mono Vampire. “We had a bad shooting game today. Hopefully, we bounce back with a good shooting game (vs. China).

That loss was resulted to a Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas versus China Kashgar in the tip-off of the Quarterfinals round.

Before the start of this tournament, one of the headlines that spread in social media as well as in mainstream news wesbsites is that Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player Andray Blatche will suit up for China basketball squad.

That might be the main feature of this match as Blatche will go head-to-head for the first time with his Filipino coach.

Blatche is one of the reasons why team Philippines reached the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. He just joined with his Chinese team two days ago and only played less than 10 minutes of basketball action.

Blatche was 0 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists in his 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup debut.
