Team Philippines weren’t able to make back-to-back wins as they bowed down against Palestine Sareyyet Ramallah yesterday. Today, they’ll be facing team Thailand, a team that defeated team Palestine in their tournament opener.

Probably because of the fatigue from travel, Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas were in a different playing mode when they clashed against the Sareyyet Ramallah squad just a day ago.

Philippines men’s basketball team shoots a woeful 5-of-28 from beyond the three-point territory and Isaiah Austin was only limited to 13 points and 8 rebounds.

Austin was also seen limping at the end of the first half and needed the help of his teammates to carry him out of the basketball court.

In the second half, team Philippines made its run led by FIBA 3X3 duo of Jeron Teng and Kiefer Ravena.

Palestines’ lead of 14 points was chopped down to only four in the final period, 69-73 with 5:17 remaining in the game.

Anthony Weeden was pulled out at that time when Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas made its surge. Immediately, the opposing coach re-insert his import to protect their remaining points advantage.

Palestines’ players responded and answered a back-to-back three-pointers which puts the lead back to ten.

Without the rim protection provided by Isaiah Austin, team Philippines have a difficulty collecting wins in the 2017 FIBA Champions Cup.

Team Thailand on the other hand will resume its game today and will parade a Filipino American player in the name of Jason Brickman.

Brickman was instrumental in snagging their first win against the Palestine Sareyyet Ramallah. He scored 19 points and 11 assists in that game.

Likewise, there are familiar names in Mono Vampire Basketball Club which the team Philippines have played during the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. These names are Chanachon Klahan and Kannut Samerjai.
