Both Gilas Pilipinas and team Iraq are currently undefeated in Group B as they took care their first respective assignments.

However, for Philippines men’s basketball squad coach Chot Reyes, their game against Iraq is an important one after Gilas won versus the defending champion, team China.

“It’s only one win,” he told the team amidst the celebration in the dug out. He went on: “The important game is against Iraq,” Reyes added.

Winning their game today will secure them a slot for the second round and if team Philippines able to sweep the entire Group B assignments then a secure spot in the Quarterfinals.

However, there are major changes in tonight’s matchup. Team Iraq will be parading a new naturalized player in the name of Kevin Galloway while Gilas Pilipinas will be unleashing its team A lineup.

In Jones Cup, Iraq was reinforced by DeMario Mayfield while Gilas Pilipinas brought a roster where majority of it are Gilas Cadets.

Fans will expect another physical game especially that Carl Bryan Cruz and Mohammed Al-Khafaji will be seeing each other once again.

These two cagers had their moment in Jones Cup tournament and the latter demonstrated how good of an actor he can be.
