The Philippines’ Gilas Pilipinas is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Singapore National Basketball Team at 7:00 P.M. on May 13, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Gilas Pilipinas is looking for a back-to-back wins and continue its dominance in the SEABA tourney while team Singapore aims to avenge its loss against team Indonesia.
As many have expected, Philippines national basketball team dominated team Myanmar in its opening match this 2017 SEABA Championships tournament.
The ceiling of Andray Blatche and June Mar Fajardo are too much for the team whose center player height is 6’5″. If Myanmar starting middle man got tired his reliever only stands at 6’2″.
However, it was the second unit of coach Chot Reyes makes most of the highlights and started the run to create a very huge margin. Calvin Abueva led all scorers with his 22 points while Allein Maliksi added 20 for the team that wore color blue.
In the 2:57 marker of the fourth quarter, Roger Pogoy’s layup gave the Pinoy Dream Team its 100 point lead (140-40).
Singapore will feature two of its finest players, they are Wei Long Wong who is also known as the Singapore Assasin or Long-ranger and Delvin Goh who got a monicker as the Wonderkid.
Both players carried their team against Indonesia on their initial game but went short. Wong scored 10 points while Goh chipped in with his 6 points along with his 7 rebounds.
Also prior to the Gilas vs Singapore match is the Vietnam vs Thailand scheduled at 3:00 P.M. followed by Indonesia and Malaysia at 5:00 P.M.
