Team Philippines is scheduled for a head-to-head game against team Brazil at 3:10 P.M. on June 9, 2018 in Philippine Arena, Bulacan.

The Gilas Pilipinas will start its bid for the 2018 FIBA 3X3 World Cup today and will try to defend its home-court against the Brazilian basketball squad.

Stanley Pringle, Troy Rosario, RR Pogoy and Christian Standhardinger will lead the Philippine team in Bocaue and they will be coached by one of the PBA greats Ronnie Magsanoc.

“There are some adjustments. The game is faster in 3×3 because of the 12-second shot clock. But the key there is not to hurry our shots. These are the things we talked about leading to this event,” said Magsanoc.

Pringle is known for his dribbling skills and scoring prowess in the PBA is a perfect fit in this kind of basketball game. It was already proven as Dusan Bulut has led his Serbian team to several championships.

“You have a very excited Stanley Pringle, who’s just too happy to be part of the Philippine team. Then s’yempre yung gigil din nila Troy, Pogoy and Christian. We could probably pull off a few surprises here,” Team manager Butch Antonio said.

San Miguel Beermen has decided to sideline Standhardinger in several of their PBA games despite of a need to capture a win. That gave ample amount of days to rest Standhardinger’s sore knee in order to be out ready for this annual event.

“Yes, he (Standhardinger) will be playing,” Antonio said. “Our lineup is intact. As a matter of fact, they practiced this afternoon. So it will be a go,” he added.
