The Philippines campaign for the FIBA 3X3 World Cup 2017 will officially begins today against a team that won a FIBA 3X3 European Championship trophy back in 2014.

Last year it was a tough battle between these two teams as it was only decided by only two points. Karl Dehesa was the hero of that game after he nailed a corner three-pointer.

The lineup of Keifer Ravena, Jeron Teng, Kobe Paras and J.R. Quinahan will battle those phyical players of Romania which are expected to avenge their 2016 loss.

Russel Escoto was even got sidelined in their last game held in China due to a shoulder injury and Glenn Khobuntin was also seen falling in an awkward landing position after making a layup.

That might be one of the reasons why Quinahan got selected to join Pilipinas squad to bring in his experience. The average age of Romania players is 35 years old compared to 25 for the Philippines.
