Team Philippines will resume its FIBA 3X3 World Cup 2017 campaign today and will take on the tournament’s second seed, Slovenia.

The opponent of Philippines have players who are within FIBA 3X3 top 17. Slovenia also owns the bronze medal in last year’s tourney which was held in China.

In their opening day, they have swept their scheduled assignments. Slovenia defeated El Salvador (21-16) and Romania (21-12), a team which Philippines also won (21-15).

Kiefer Ravena and the rest of the squad needs to win all of its today’s games to qualify to the second round. After their match against Slovenia, they will play against El Salvador.

“In such a tournament, mabigat ‘yung game na ‘yun kasi konti lang (ang games) tapos crucial lahat. So confidence-wise, to start with a win, malaking bagay ‘yun,” said Ravena.

Yesterday was a no rest for Kobe Paras as he joined the FIBA 3X3 Slam Dunk contest. The son of Benjie Paras who’s the only recipient of Rookie-MVP award was spectacular in his first two dunks that gave him 50 points.

However, his athleticism wasn’t enough to topple other contestants who are known as professional dunkers.
