Here is the list of rookies selected by the Phoenix Pulse Super LPG Fuel Masters during the 2021 PBA Draft.
After leading the Fuel Masters to an impressive 2020 PBA Philippine Cup run which is also known as the “PBA bubble” tournament, the management may now remove the word interim to the role of Topex Robinson and make him now the official head coach of the said squad. With Robinson calling the calls from the Fuel Masters bench, the team ended the tournament with an 8-2 slate and finished second after the elimination round behind the eventual champion, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
Phoenix can use that previous season as their solid foundation as they prepare for the 46th PBA season which is now around the corner.
In the first round, coach Robinson called the name of Larry Muyang who played previously for the Letran Knights NCAA. Muyang will be an instant replacement to the spot which Dave Marcelo left as he is now transferred to TNT Tropang Giga. According to the commentators during the 2021 PBA Draft, Muyang is compared to the likes of JR Quinahan and Beau Belga, a bruiser who can also deliver solid points contribution every night.
In the second round, Phoenix had the opportunity to pick two rookies where they selected Nick Demusis and Aljun Melecio. Demusis will bring more scoring and athleticism to the team while Melecio who is a pass-first guard mentality will help his new squad to have a more productive offensive possession.
In the third round, Phoenix picked Reymar Caduyac, in the fourth round they selected Max Hentschel, and in their last round in the fifth, they got Jerie Pingoy.
