The Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters won in their previous matchup against Alaska where they won with a five-point lead.
Four of the starters from Phoenix went all out in their winning effort. Wright led the team with 26 points and 11 assists while Perkins had 22 points while shooting 8-13 from the field. Both Jazul and Maxwell contributed 21 points against the Aces, combining up to 42 combined points. In addition, Maxwell also had 21 huge boards and blocked two shots on the defensive end.
At one point in the contest, the Fuel Masters even held a 15-point lead against the Aces.
Meanwhile, the Meralco Bolts are coming off from a loss in their previous game against the San Miguel Beermen. Not only that, but the Bolts are also currently having a three-game losing skid.
In their clash against the Beermen, they blew their 26-point commanding lead and as a result, they lost to San Miguel.
Tony Bishop tallied 29 points for Meralco and grabbed 14 boards. On the defensive end, the import had three steals and a block. Overall, Bishop shot 13-22 from the field. Allein Maliksi, who came off from the bench for the Bolts, added 16 points while Banchero and Black provided 26 combined points in the losing effort, 13 for both of them.
