The Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Columbian Dyip at 4:30 P.M. on August 22, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Fuel Masters will make its debut this afternoon and will parade its biggest acquisition early this second conference while the Dyip are determined to make a bounce back game.
Finally, PBA fans will have to see the Calvin Abueva in a different jersey as Phoenix will try to log its first victory despite of having several players in the injury list.
Although their current status is game-time decision, Doug Kramer, Willy Wilson, Rey Guevarra and Gelo Alolino can make a huge factor in order for their squad have a good start this 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.
“We’re very optimistic,” said Fuel Master head coach Louie Alas. “Huwag lang kaming ma-out effort, we are in good shape,” Alas added.
Columbian Dyip gave Meralco Bolts a scare during the opening day of third conference. Columbian controlled the game during the early stages only to get out-powered by the Bolts in the second half.
Jerramy King had another outstanding game for the Dyip as he logged 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Columbian import Akeem Wright also had a stellar debut performance as he tallied 30 points and 14 rebounds in a losing effort.
Although they have lost the game against Meralco, newly hired head coach Johnedel Cardel is impressed with what he see last week.
“Siguro makakatsamba kami, di ba? Like this Meralco team is a very strong team. S’yempre finals team ito with coach Norman Black… so happy ako na lumaban team ko,” said Cardel.
