The Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NLEX Road Warriors at 4:30 P.M. on February 8, 2019 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Fuel Masters are looking to make a five-game winning streak while the Road Warriors wanted to keep their winning momentum and improve their winning percentage to .500 when PBA resumes this afternoon in SM MOA Arena.
The Road Warriors won their last two-game assignment after having a bad 44th PBA season start where they lost three in a row.
However, their latest victory cost them one of its key player. That’s Kevin Alas who will be out once again for the rest of the season as he suffered the same injury he went through last year.
With his absence, NLEX activated their rookie guard Kyles Lao.
On the other hand, the combination of JP Erram and Marion Magat is clicking and this is one of the concerns of Phoenix head coach Louie Alas.
“Major concern: NLEX big guys Erram, Quinahan, Magat, Porter,” said Alas on the eve of the match.
“We’re eyeing to deny them every possession,” added Alas. “Super talented, super athletic, plus dangerous ang three-point shooting nila.”
With their latest victories, coach Yeng likes what he see. He also planning to soak Bong Galanza and Kenneth Ighalo for them to gain more experience most especially on how to close a game.
“We have some key guys playing in the endgame for us,” said by the current national team head coach. “Poy Erram, of course, para matuto rin siyang magdala ng team sa endgame. Marion Magat made some important contributions. Iyon na nga we’re trying to give experience to Bong Galanza, to Kenneth Ighalo, in learning how to win games in the endgame.”
“So it’s a full experience for us. We’re just trying to recover from a bad start so me dalawang panalo na, me winning streak na kami and hopefully we can carry it through.”
